May 25 was National Missing Children's Day. Here at TreePaad we had a fun and exciting day by joining forces with other local agencies to hand out information and safety tips on keeping all of our children safe.
We had Internet specialists from Queensbury School, Christopher Norton and Matt Hladun talking on Internet Safety. They came with alot of info from internet bullying to what parents need to know. They had interactive displays on good sites and bad ones. Kate Speranza from the Warren Washington Care Center was present and handed out lots of coloring books on good touches and information on different types of abuse. Brian Lashway of The Glens Falls Police Dept. fingerprinted over 70 children, and the parents were really excited that he was here. Lisa Fearis of The Homeless Youth Coalition was here talking on services they offer and programs that they support.
Thank you for joining us and taking 25 minutes to talk to your child about ways to be safer at home, on the internet and in the community. Together we can keep working to keep our children safe!
